Synopsis

The AIDS JaaGO project presents four short films by directors Mira Nair, Vishal Bhardwaj, Santosh Sivan and Farhan Akhtar that aim to dismantle myths and misconceptions about HIV/AIDS. This project was the brainchild of Mira Nair and is produced by her company, Mirabai Films. The four AIDS Jaago films come from different parts of India - each with in its own genre and each with a different point about HIV/AIDS.

Positive tells the story of a young boy's family and how they cope with the devastation that AIDS brings to their family. After tolerating his father's indiscretions for years in his youth, he must reconcile his desire to start a new life for himself with his duties to his family.

Farhan Akhtar began his Bollywood career at the age of 17, assisting directors and cinematographers and working for a TV production house. Eventually, he established his own production house, Excel Entertainment, with childhood friend Ritesh Sidhwani. Earning a reputation as one of Bollywood's leading filmmakers, his award-winning films, including Dil Chahta Hai, Don, and Rock On won him critical acclaim and box office success. His upcoming projects include Vijay Lalwani's thriller Karthik Calling Karthik and a sequel to Don. He currently lives with his wife Adhuna Bhabani Akhtar and their two daughters in Bandra Bandstand, Mumbai, where he hosts celebrity talk show Oye! It's Friday!.
