Synopsis


Sky Dancer presents the simple yet profound teachings of Khandroma Kunzang Wangmo, a nomadic woman from a remote region on the Tibetan plateau. Khandroma is a learned and respected woman teacher, or "lama", a rare position for a woman in Asia. She is one of few women who can teach from a lofty throne and was granted with the title Khandroma, literally meaning, and “sky dancer.” Highly revered in Tibetan society, “sky dancers” are seen as the embodiment of female enlightenment.


At a time of great transition in China, she illuminates a sense of humanity, which unites people from all backgrounds acting as an important bridge between Tibetans and Chinese. She is the Matriarch for an entire region, and the primary spiritual guide to hundreds of male renunciates, and the inspiration to many around the world.
